Jesus is a gentleman. He is not the morality police who storms into your life and demands subservience. He is the King of King and the Lord of Lords who humbly asks to come into your life so that He can restore the relationship between you and His Father. Just open the door!

It’s interesting to me that this passage was written to believers. Once we have received Jesus as Savior, we still have the daily choice to let Him into our lives (receive him as LORD) or go our own way.
