This book is absolutely mesmerizing. Shots are fired! People are down and the Coastal Guardians are in the middle of the action! I will be doing a full review closer to the release date, but I can assure you that this book is worth reading. I would rate it PG-13 because of the content. (There is a mass shooting in the first scene.)

If you’re like me, you love Elizabeth Goddard books! If you have never read one of her books, you are really missing out on some great romantic suspense!
I have not read this book yet because I’m waiting for my advance copy to arrive. However, I have read the other books in the series and would rate them PG-13 due to content, with intense action and conflict.
I hope that you will consider purchasing these books because I cannot recommend these authors highly enough! I read for pleasure and these two give me all of the good feels from great romantic suspense!
This non-stop, fast-paced romantic suspense thriller had me on the edge of my seat and advising the characters about what they needed to do next to stay safe. Beginning with an attempted assassination with a boat and moving to gunshot wounds and exploding dams, the action in the book never let up. There are twists galore that kept me reading and guessing until the very satisfying conclusion. The characters of Nathan and Erin were so human, with flaws and doubts just like all of us have. I really enjoyed the heroics of Nathan and the determination of Erin. The character that surprised me was Erin’s mom Celia, a lady with a strong will and a lot of secrets from the past. I enjoyed reading about characters from the first book in the series, but this one can definitely be read as a standalone without creating any confusion at all. With spot on tension and intense drama, the book called to the mystery lover in me and touched all of the right buttons to enthrall me. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a fast pace and a heart-thumping adventure. The first book in a new series is always exciting, but this one was especially so since it has a beautiful setting and characters that are complex and who react in an expected and totally human way. Starting with a plane crash and a pilot who stumbles away and disappears, this book is non-stop action with lots of mystery that just keeps building. Detective Jack Tanner is working in Montana after giving up his job as an FBI Special agent and ends up working with US Forest Service Special Agent Terra Connors when the two of them unexpectedly find a dead body. Since the two of them have a past that ended with a split, their interactions were very interesting, bringing simmering romance into all of the suspense. The plot was intriguing and intellectually stimulating to me. I had never really heard about archeological artifacts being stolen and trafficked, but that is really what is going on in this complicated and well-written book. There are many characters, but all are necessary as they add to the mystery one at a time and build up what becomes a satisfying resolution. The twists were surprises to me and the pacing was perfect. All of the chapters just flowed one into another so it was hard to stop reading since I really wanted to know what was going to happen and who the villain was. My favorite part of the book was the description of the scenery, because each new place the characters went was described with intricate detail so that I could place myself into that scene. My favorite character was Terra’s brother Owen, a wounded war veteran who is a real “horse whisperer” and a true hero. Of course, I loved the mounting suspense and the interaction between the characters. It seemed that Terra was destined for danger, but I enjoyed watching how she got herself out of those encounters. I particularly enjoyed knowing how the characters were working out the mystery in their minds, sharing with me what they were thinking so that I could work on the mystery myself. All in all, this was a thoroughly entertaining and delightful book and I am already looking forward to book #2 in the series. Although this is a part of a series, I did not feel that I had to read the other books in order to enjoy this one. I loved this suspense-filled thriller that is my favorite kind of book to read! This is actually my first book by this author, but now I definitely want to go back and find her other books to read them. I devoured the story of investigative reported Rae Burke and former DEA agent Liam McCade. Rea is doggedly determined to find her missing sister-in-law when she shows up in Wyoming asking for Liam’s help. He agrees to help, and I could feel the sparks coming off the page any time these two were together. The romance took a back seat to the suspense though because apparently Zoey is in grave danger and now that Rae is hunting her, so is Rae. Drugs and human trafficking are involved, so the villains were not easy to uncover. The setting was wonderful! Wyoming in the winter and with a blizzard coming! The descriptions of the setting added to the taut suspense in the book as I waited for the next big reveal. They just kept coming! Fans of thriller and romantic suspense are encouraged to grab this book and read it.
