So worth sharing, as the year draws to an end. Life on earth ends for everyone. Don’t let your elderly loved ones be alone and forgotten.
I so enjoy volunteering at the assisted living near us. The staff are so good – yes, really seeing each individual and getting to know them. It’s a loving, caring environment. Because it’s a small town, most of the staff remember the residents from years gone by; I appreciate that there is accountability in that, in addition to staff knowing the families of the residents.
May this be a reminder to us all: even if we don’t know a person, someone does, and Someone does. “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Eph 4.32

I worked in a nursing home for a couple of years when I was younger, and it was so sad to see the residents who had no family coming to visit them on holidays. And some of those family members lived right in town.
