This book is a totally clean and Christian read.
Although this is the second book in the series, it can definitely be read as a standalone as I had not read book #1 and had no problems understanding the plot or the connections between the characters. Harper Reynolds is a former crime scene photographer who is enjoying her visit to Wyoming and is taking photos of the Grand Tetons when she suddenly sees a murder occurring and photographs it. Naturally, her being a witness to the crime puts her in the crosshairs of the perpetrator. Along with a rancher/deputy sheriff named Heath McKade, Harper is determined to solve the crime before she ends up being a victim. The action is fast-paced and is definitely heart-stopping in places. The mystery is well-developed, with many clues along the way to help the savvy mystery buff solve the case along with Harper and Heath. Secrets from the past are adequately linked to present events so that the story makes a full and satisfying circle. Fans of books with family, faith and a theme of second chances will really enjoy this latest book by Goddard and just like me will look forward to the next book in the series.

My rating:

The only reason I did not award five stars is because I was able to follow the cues and figure out the villain. I would have liked more of a challenge, but the book was very well-written and I did enjoy reading it.

This is the first in the new CAPITAL INTRIGUE series and is a totally clean read!
This new book by Rachel Dylan shows her readers how versatile she is at taking a complicated plot and drawing us into it quickly. This is the first book in a new series called Capital Intrigue, and it definitely hooked me right from the beginning when military special ops men are being killed, seemingly randomly. When multiple agencies are called to investigate, Special Agent Bailey Ryan meets NCIS agent Marco Agostini. The case is twisted, with a lot of secrets that are hidden being revealed and a plot that reaches deep into the bowels of the most secret agency in the U.S. Bailey and Marco are tasked with unraveling the clues and following them to solve the mysteries of the deaths of the SEALS as well as evade being killed themselves. Bailey becomes a vulnerable target during the investigation and that whole sub-plot is edge of the seat reading. This is a book that you will want to set aside time to read from start to finish because it is really hard to put down! Fans of romantic suspense will really enjoy END GAME, and will look forward to the next book in the series!

May Israel Ask: “What Child Is This?”

Please go to the original post and follow David. He has a great deal of wisdom.
I have heard it said that you can’t do everything, but you can do something. In a world that is hurting and needs God’s grace more than ever before, be the one who offers the forgiveness and grace that God gave to you. The article from Dr. Denison this morning was spot on! God created us and then paid for us!

I read a Dr. Denison article again this morning that really made me think of something that I had never really considered before. Jesus is God, and He is the only person born who chose His parents. As the article goes on to describe, He could have chosen to be born as a son of a ruler or a priest, but He chose to come to the house of a carpenter. Here is the link to the original article. Please feel free to skip all of the kerfuffle about President Trump, since he seems to cause a kerfuffle even when he isn’t trying. Scroll down and read about Jesus and His choice to come to earth in the family in which He was born. And think about the fact that none of us was given a choice. We got our parents because God chose for us, just as He chose for His Son.
As my daughter and I discussed this fact, she played a song for me that I haven’t heard in years.
Have you ever considered the special power that comes at Christmas? People are saying “Merry Christmas” everywhere without even realizing whose name they are including in their greeting. We can share the true meaning of Christmas with those who are buying gifts to exchange. We can share the true meaning of Christmas with those who have no gifts to exchange. We can share the true meaning of Christmas with unsaved family members and friend. Why now? Because the power of Christmas is in the word CHRISTmas! Christ is alive in each of us, and His power flows through us to others. Here is an article by Dr. Denison for you to enjoy and ponder:
I will be taking the next few days off to be with family, but I want to wish everyone a very Merry CHRISTmas!

In my devotional this morning, I was reminded to be thankful. During this busy season of buying gifts, wrapping them, decorating and attending get-togethers, I’m just passing on the word to be thankful. Any time that you enter into God’s presence during prayer or worship, you are entering “His gates.” So, take time today and everyday to be thankful. God didn’t have to make you, heal you and give you so many blessings, but He did. Just be the one who takes time to say “thank you, Lord!”

I am thankful today for being able to spend a few days with my grandchildren. What a blessing to be able to hold, cuddle and see how much they have grown since the months ago that I saw them last. Thank you, Lord, for grandchildren. Thank you, Lord for family. Bless your Holy Name for this joyous Christmas season in which we can celebrate you with our family members!
