Evil Days

As the days become more and more evil and more people are turning away from God, it is up to us who bear His Name to be wise and to use the time we have wisely. Look at the newspapers. Listen to the news. There is nothing happening that surprises God, but there is a lot of evil in the world. It reminds me of the “days of Noah” when people thought that everything they did was just fine. And then, the floods came. God promised not to destroy the earth with another flood, but He also promised a new Heaven and a new earth. Perhaps we need to be looking up more and less at our electronic devices. Just a thought.

Have a blessed day, filled with wise choices.

  1. Amen, may God’s people ever walk with His Wisdom, in His Ways. And may we keep our eyes on His return. But also 1 Peter 5.8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

  2. I used to look at the newspapers and listen to the news more, but the contradictory information got too confusing. Lies, half-truths, bias, scandals, accusations, terrorizing predictions, angry rants … Not to mention the true stories about things that are just too horrific, and there’s nothing I can do to change it, (Yep, we live in evil times.) except prayer. That seems to be a much better use of my time.

    1. Exactly. I do read Dr. Denison’s Forum and Mike Huckabee’s newsletters to get news from a Christian perspective. I feel that I need to be somewhat informed, but not so much that I’m paralyzed with anxiety.

  3. Vickie, Yes, the days are evil. Yes, they are much like the days of Noah. Yes, more and more people are turning from God, but the sad reality there is that many of them think they are turning to Jesus because they are believing lies that tell them that faith in Jesus does not require obedience, repentance, or submission to Christ as Lord. So, literally they are turning away from God because they are denying who he is and what he stands for and what he requires of them.

Regarding electronic devices, it depends on what we are using them for. If we are on them just for entertainment, then yes, put them down and spend much time with the Lord in his word, in prayer, and in obedience, and in using these electronic devices for sharing his true gospel with others so that they can know Jesus in truth and repent of their sins, and walk with Jesus in obedience.
