Today’s first line will be different than what you are probably expecting. My first line is from the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

The Book of John is near and dear to me because it was in reading this book, all alone in my apartment late at night fifty plus year ago, that I turned to the Lord for salvation. My neighbor gave me the Bible and the Holy Spirit prodded me to read it. I read, I believed, I received, I accepted and I began a lifelong journey of repentance and change.
What is the first line you ever read in the Bible? What is your testimony? Sharing is important because it is in sharing, just as my neighbor did, that we show we truly care.
Have a blessed day, friends!
It’s hard for me to just choose one book from the Bible because so many books have touched me in different ways of my life. I too always love the book of John for many reasons the seven “I Am” of Jesus Christ, how he was always there. When I have shared my journey with someone I have always have them read the book of John first to be there own walk with Christ
Blessings

Mine has been an up and down struggle until my son passed away a few years back. I have too many scriptures that has touched my heart to name just one verse or book. I feel this journey I am now is making me stronger and bolder in my faith. Thank you, Vickie, for the encouraging words you post.

Thanks for sharing this, Vickie. For me, the book was Matthew. I read it all in one night. I didn’t get saved, but it led me out of atheism. I finally came to Christ 7 years later.

Leading you away from atheism was a definite good start!

While I cannot recall the first line I read from the Bible, I am especially drawn more and more to the Old Testament, especially the Psalms, Proverbs, and Isaiah.
